Common Ground MD is awarded Fellow Rank

Common Ground Estate and Property Management is pleased to announce that Managing Director, Alan Draper has been awarded Fellowship of the Institute of Residential Property Management (FRIPM) status.

The Institute of Residential Property Management (IRPM) is the recognised professional body for the residential property management sector. It provides nationally accredited qualifications, guidance on career pathways and resources, to assist property managers within their roles.

Fellow (FIRPM) status is awarded by the IRPM Board of Directors to Members with ten or more years’ relevant experience in residential property management to those who can specifically demonstrate that they have made a significant contribution to the development of the sector over and above that made to their own business or employer.

Alan explains: “IRPM Fellow status is one of the highest accolades in the Block Management industry and I am incredibly proud to have been awarded it.

“I look forward to continuing to promote the industry and help effect improvements to assist leaseholders in the maintenance of properties throughout the south of England.”

Alan, who is a campaigner for commonhold reform, launched Common Ground 15 years ago to address the shortcomings in the market. The business now manages a portfolio of 2,792 properties in 96 developments across the south of England.

The firm’s geographical reach has expanded into London as well as Beaconsfield, Newbury, Swindon, Kent, Reading, Windsor, Surrey, Oxford, Henley on Thames and Buckinghamshire.

The business is an Accredited Managing Agent of the Leasehold Knowledge Partnership with Alan campaigning for mainstream commonhold to be adopted in England and Wales which would ensure homebuyers own their properties.

Alan takes part in an all-party parliamentary group meetings and is committed to assisting IRPM. Last year he presented at the annual IRPM conference in London providing key insights into the challenges of installing electric vehicle charging points into leasehold properties.

This drew on a white paper Alan wrote – Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure in Communal Living Environments – which was published by the IRPM last year.
